SUMMARY:Consultation on Location of Estate Office - Workshop Two
DESCRIPTION:The Department of Community and Children’s Services has
been granted planning approval to convert the ground floor of Great Ar
thur House into three much needed homes. This means that we must move
the Estate Office from its present location.\r\nThe Housing Service ha
d proposed that the Estate Manager, Michelle Warman, the Estate Office
r, Ian Dowsett and the Customer Services Officer, Ruben Mendes, be rel
ocated into the office in the Community Centre, but we know that not a
ll residents support this plan and we are keen to investigate other op
tions.\r\nWe know that there is a wealth of experience on the Golden L
ane Estate and that the people who live here would like to contribute
to the plans for its future.\r\nWe have arranged three workshops, to f
ind out what everyone thinks and to hear your ideas.\r\nThe workshops
will be run by independent facilitators from Southwark Mediation.\r\nT
he feedback from the first two workshops will be published shortly aft
er the second one has taken place. This will then form the basis of a
third and final workshop.\r\nThe feedback we get will then inform the
City’s decision on the location of the Estate Office and the designs
for the new flats.\r\nWe look forward to hearing your views.\r\nWorks
hop One will take place on June 17th from 6-8pm in the Golden Lane Com
munity Centre and will focus on the location of the estate office. Mor
e info here.\r\nWorkshop Two will take place on July 11th from 6-8pm a
lso at the Golden Lane Community Centre and will focus on the plans fo
r the new flats including:\r\n\r\nWhat you think of the designs for th
e new flats and whether you have any ideas to improve them\r\nWhat you
think of the proposal to use one of the flats as a facility to provid
e short-term care for people leaving hospital\r\n\r\nThis workshop wil
l last 2 hours and there will be additional time afterwards for people
to discuss their views with the facilitators.\r\nThere will be separa
te tenant and leaseholder breakout spaces to discuss the different iss
ues.\r\nWorkshop Three will be arranged and confirmed in due course. T
his will be shared with residents. This will take place after the feed
back from the first two workshops has been compiled. It will be an opp
ortunity for people to discuss the feedback and comments from the firs
t two workshops, or to add their own comments if they could not attend
these sessions.\r\n\r\nIf you can’t attend any of the workshops, yo
u can still make your views known by: Calling Dave Walker from Southwa
 rk Mediation on\r\n07932 762 001\r\n E-mailing your comments to\r\n
davewalker@southwarkmediation.co.uk\r\n Sending your comments in wr
iting to the Estate Office,\r\nmarked “Estate Office/Flats Consultat
ion”\r\nThe deadline for written comments is 31st July 2019.\n\nFor
