storical novels. They are proud to continue their commitment to bringi
ng fresh and exciting works in English translation, and to develop the
 ir cross-border publishing partnerships.\nEvald Flisar, born in 1945 i

When the main character, a successful writer, experiences writer’s b
lock, he withdraws from his malign fate to Berghof, a Swiss clinic. A
number of famous names in world literature are already receiving treat
ment there, from Martin Amis, Graham Greene and Saul Bellow to J. M. C
oetzee. But is Berghof really what it purports to be? And what role do
es the ever-silent figure of Scheherazade play in the novel? My Kingd
om is Dying is not just a hybrid of the genres of confession - detect
ive story, memoir and fictional biography - but also a unique combinat
ion of fiction and metafiction, literature and meta-literary reflectio
 n. Readers follow a gripping story in which unusual events unobtrusive
ly mingle with meaningful reflection and deep insights.\nA special tha
nk you to the Slovenian Book Agency (JAK), who have made Evald's visi
 t to the U.K. possible.\n\nFor more information visit http://goldenlan
