COLPAI - Latest consultations - On a happier note

If you have visited the COLPAI project site recently you will see:

"We apologise for any inconvenience but the COLPAI School Waste Strategy consultation has been discontinued."

It's worth visiting the site though to look at the proposals that they have made for replacing the trees and having your say. The consultation is open until the 5th April. The proposed options are both good and the boards displayed at the drop-in also had details of climbing plants that they plan to plant soon to grow up the fence and provide a green screen and some habitat for our birds and wildlife.

At the Housing Management and Almshouses Sub Committee meeting last week it was agreed that there would be consultations on the following conditions

  • Details of landscaping/tree planting for the school (condition 26);
  • Details of landscaping/tree planting for public realm and Basterfield access road (condition 27);
  • Details of tree pits and trees (condition 28);
  • Nesting boxes (condition 36);
  • Delivery servicing plan for the school (condition 43);
  • Delivery servicing plan for residential/commercial (condition 44);
  • Refuse/recycling provision (condition 45);
  • Refuse collection point (condition46)
  • Provision of long and short stay cycle parking (condition 52);
  • Hours of community use of the school hall (condition 64);
  • Hours of playground use (condition 65).

The dates of the future resident meetings for the year were also agreed. I had hoped that they would alternate drop-in sessions with public meetings but the current plan is for public meetings quarterly. This will be reviewed in the summer when residents can feed back their preferences and there will be some information on numbers attending etc.

Consultation meetings about the conditions will be separate from these meetings and dates will be advertised.

For your diaries the dates are:

April 25 Drop-in, May 23 Drop-in, June 20 Public meeting, 25 July Drop-in, 22 August,19 September, 10 October, 14 November, 12 December.
