Has anyone else been experiencing problems with reception for the ITV and C4, More 4, E4, etc. channels since New Year?

Hi All

I've just spoken to at800 - and they will be sending me a filter...I hope that is all I need, and it works - if not, i might just give up!

Take care

Kathy

Just went to argos got a cable for £7:99, and in 5 minutes I have got apparently 277 channels from 1 satellite

:-)

Hi Nathan

Really - wow.....!

Kathy

Spoke too soon, the TV registers all the channels, but half of them are not viewable because surprise, surprise "weak signal", which means as far as I can gather  A. the dish is not aligned correctly, or is an inferior dish B. the cabling is faulty or inferior or has water in it, damaged.

C. the boosters are not set properly, or faulty, or inferior.

Just on my limited knowledge so far, more than likely loads more reasons

I have no idea what they have on the roof of GAH. More than one dish? Which satellites is or are they aligned with etc.

I am just researching satellite and freesat, as I have never used it or installed it etc, so it's a sharp learning curve for me, but when i scanned all the satellites I got a total of 2591 TV channels, 426 radio, when I scanned eurobird 28.5 E (freesat satellite) I got TV 165 and radio 38, and the interesting ones I want to view are all week signal and can't be viewed, but the other usual freesat channels are fine, BBc, ITV etc, can't view movies4men, French news, euronews etc

Daniel it would be great to have a look at yours, lol, to see if you have the same problems, which block do you live in?

It would be nice if something on this estate actually worked, lol

Maybe its me, maybe I have to change some setting on the telly, but its samsung and the user manual is so long winded, and half the features on the tv aren't even mentioned, lol.

Forgot to ask , how are you getting on with the freeview Kathleen?

Hi Nathan

You know more than I do....about settings, satnavs and heavens knows what else.  I'm still waiting for at800 to send me the filter...any day now hopefully.  Been watching the Olympic Games mostly on BBC this weekend and the reception at one point got so bad that I kept on turning the TV off and on again to unblock it.  I ended up auto tuning the blinking thing to see if that improved the reception - but it didn't!

Thanks for asking

Kathy

Have you tried it today?

My free view seems to be working  at the moment

Daniel it would be great  if you could let me know are you missing any channels from FREESAT as I  am, and which block do you live in? I am in Crescent House, they are registered on the system but can't view them as the signal is too weak, i.e. movies4men, euronews, France24 to name a few.

Hi Nathan

Received my filter yesterday from at800 - now just have to install it.  Haven't been watching Freeview lately - as the Olympics are taking up most of my viewing time, when I'm at home and they are on BBC.  Once they are over I will be able to see what Freeview is up to.  Hope Daniel helps you get your FREESAT etc. sorted.

Hi Nathan. There are hundreds of tv channels available from the satellite 'Astra 2', but not all of these are 'freesat' channels. When my receiver box is in freesat mode I receive all of the freesat channels (see http://www.freesat.co.uk/channels) with no reception problems. When my receiver box is not in freesat mode I can receive many hundreds of additional channels although some of them have weak signals. I am in Crescent.

Yes, I will be going to the meeting.

Woopy Doo, I have fixed the freesat, it was faulty cabling installed by the company that was paid £600,000 four years ago to re cable the whole estate, now I am getting all the freesat channels and loads of free to air satellite  channels, thank you to the CORP for informing us (not) that we had freesat and free to air satellite.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that it all stays up and running.
