I've pre registered with Vision so will see what happens

I have contacted Vision Fibre and they replied that the infrastructure isn't in place yet and that they don't have a date when it will be up and running. So it may be some time before we get either of these two

Does anyone use Talktalk? and if so what speed do you pay for and what actual speed do you get?

Think of getting Talktalk faster fibre + telephone.

thx

Hi all,

I'm looking for a new internet provider (stepping away from Relish - now they have been taken over by Three the speed has dropped. I see that Community Fibre now allows you to order on their website (on a Hatfield House address I can get 200Mbps for 35/mo), and wondered if anyone by now has taken a contract with Community Fibre and some experience with actual speeds.

Cheers, Bas

We have been using Community Fibre  about three months and are happy with them

Hi, Merry. What are the actual speeds you're getting?

Thanks,

Chris

180-200Mbs

That's good. Do you mind if I ask how much you pay per month, and does that include a land line?

Sorry to take so long in replying we have been cut off due to severe damage by rodents. There was confusion due to internet going just as the Network Electricfolk started digging the pavement up.

Three options depending on need and budget we have the middle one.

I have it too but it’s been half the speed they promised and I have 2 modems instead of one now .. which is very annoying

i wonder why that is. We pay for up to 200Mbs and get average 180 using WiFi only. The lowest it’s been is 140 when we have visitors and extra users.

We have a modem and a router which theoretically should improve things than a combined unit. You  might get a better connection if you connect with Ethernet cable but we are fine using WiFi

One box is a modem and the other does the WiFi. I was getting 400Mbs on WiFi in the same room as the boxes, and was super happy, but it’s all gone to hell in a handcart over the last ten days. The connection stopped and I got an email saying it was rodent damage. The engineer who finally came out today thought I was mad when I said that. He said it was a power surge that blew the modems and he replaced it. It worked for five minutes after he left and then dropped again. They send a lot of text updates, but they don’t acknowledge the ones I send them. Can’t get them on the phone; not sure what is going on.
