Anybody know what the demo along Fann Street was today, around 1.30pm.  A crowd of about 15 people were gathered around the newly planted trees.  They then started singing/chanting and dancing up and down!    Three Police Officers were in attendance as well.

I saw something on the Barbican Talk website last week about protesters demonstrating outside The Barbican centre wanting "equal rights" and "fair minimum wages for cleaners"!

It might well have been the Golden Lane gardening group. Was a notice in the estate office saying they were looking for volunteers to enact a fertility dance for the new apple trees.
Sort of like 'wassailing' but at a different time of year.
Ps I think there's a photo on here of one of the gardeners dancing around a tree (or sapling) in a sort of lewd fertilising manner. The white raincoat I believe has 'significance'...

Ar, that`s what is was.   But why were three Police Officers needed I wonder?    Reminds me of a scene from the cult movie "The Wicker Man"!!!
