ITEMS FOR SALE OR RECYCLE

Distraction thefts often take place in coffee shops and bars where victims are approached by people carrying a map or leaflet asking for directions as a form of distraction while a second person steals items on the table.

Suspects also target people in crowded places stealing items from bags and pockets and unfortunately a report has been received of a distraction theft in Whitecross Street.

We would advice you to take care if you are approached for directions, keep a distance from the people concerned, ask for assistance from another member of public if you are suspicious and call police as soon as possible with a description of the suspects.
