Dear Neighbour

We are writing to provide further details to the email we sent on Friday 3 July. As stated in our previous email, the Project Team and ISG would like to apologise for the disturbance caused and has now carried out a full investigation into the matter.

As a result of the incident last Wednesday evening, ISG is implementing the following changes to ensure, as far as possible, that this incident does not happen again:

  • Changing specific appliances from heat detectors to smoke detectors to minimise risk of out of hours activation.
  • Installing additional thermostatic controls to control temperatures throughout the welfare facilities.
  • All thermostatic controls to be checked at the close of business each day to ensure they are correctly set.
  • ISG is reviewing its out of hours on-site response and we will update residents once a conclusion has been reached.
  • As part of its review, ISG is investigating linking the on-site alarm system to an emergency response specialist. This will improve response time to any out of hours alarm activation
  • Whilst these further steps are being implemented, ISG will provide a temporary out of hours security presence on-site during weekends and evenings.

The alarm system is linked across the site, therefore if the alarm is triggered in the office space it will activate the alarm across the whole of the site. This is a requirement of the approved fire plan for the project and cannot be altered. Whenever the alarm is triggered, checks are undertaken to ensure that all operatives have vacated the site and to identify the location of the activation on the control panel. A check is then undertaken in the affected zone and the area is declared safe before the alarm can be reset. The COLPAI Project Team endeavours to advise residents of any upcoming fire drills on-site to ensure you are aware of any activity in advance and these drills will always be carried out during our on-site hours.

Please be assured that we will continue to work with ISG to ensure that the agreed measures are implemented and will reduce the likelihood of a recurrence of such incidences.

Yours faithfully

COLPAI Project Team
