I contacted somebody regarding the window project on the estate as I live on the road side of Crescent house and am getting increasingly annoyed by the amount of noise like today even with the windows closed the noise coming from the dance studio is ridiculous. I was disappointed but kind of okay with the answer as I thought a lot had to with listed building status but was not aware that the YMCA building was listed and they've managed to do that quick enough. Answer below.

Hello Lee,

Thanks for your enquiry.

By way of a quick update, we met the consultants in July to review the reports and I'm expecting the finalised versions, along with updated cost estimates, by October.

Our aim is to treat this as a programme of works but the work will be split into separate projects across the various Estates. One of the things I've specifically asked the consultants to come back with in the finalised reports are recommendations as to which Estates to prioritise, based upon their observations about the conditions of the windows.

At this point I'm unable to give any clear or definitive dates but we are aiming to commence works approximately Apr/May 2018, assuming that the procurement and tendering process goes ahead as planned and that we get committee approval to proceed based on the recommendations of the findings in the reports.

If there are any changes to the planned timescales, you should hopefully see these in the estate bulletins and resident newsletters. We also attend the regular drop in sessions if you'd like to speak to us in person.
