Have you ever thought that you needed some help with a bit of DIY but didn’t know who to ask? Maybe you’ve needed help moving a heavy object? Or perhaps you need to borrow a step ladder for a few hours but it wasn’t worth buying one?
On the other hand, maybe you have a skill that others could benefit from? Perhaps you have some useful knowledge you could share, or maybe an item that someone else might be able to borrow for a short while?
Maybe it’s spare time you have plenty of and want to give a bit of time back to your neighbours and the wider community? Even offering to meet up with someone for a cup of tea and a chat could make a real difference to someone’s week.
One of the benefits of living in a community like Golden Lane is the opportunity for neighbours to help each other out. Whilst being neighbourly like this is great and is likely happening all the time, sometimes a bit of coming together and organisation can make even better use out of peoples skills, knowledge, time and willingness to help.
If you could help offer anything similar to the above, or if the thought of receiving a little neighbourly help every now and then is appealing and you want to get involved in Golden Lane’s new Buddy Scheme then please get in touch with douglas.kemp@wastewatch.org.uk or on 0207 549 0341 to find out more.
