Prior Weston Primary School and Children’s Centre

A Great School in a Great place

Opportunity for a Governor

We are looking for a member of the community to join our Governor Body.

Prior Weston Primary School and Children’s Centre is in a great location, on the edges of the London Borough of Islington bordering with the City of London and neighbour to the Barbican Centre.

Prior Weston offers children from 6 months to 11 years old high quality teaching and support in an amazing campus shared with Richard Cloudesley Special Needs School.

We take pride in the approach we take to inclusiveness welcoming all to Prior Weston, where we use every opportunity for children from both schools to work and play together whenever that is possible. Our objective, is to build a similar relationship with the local community so that our school is a central part of the lives of local residents.

At Prior Weston, we try to go the extra mile and provide additional activities which enrich children’s experience. As an example we offer violin and cello lessons provided by London Music Masters to Year 1 and 2 children and they are very successful. We need support to help us continue and develop new opportunities to extend music and art activities so that more pupils can benefit.

After a period of change we now have a permanent Head Teacher and we are looking to the future, the time is right for us to be more outward facing. Our building was originally intended to be a community facility and we would like to expand our community activity. To help develop our plans we are seeking someone from the local community to join our Governor Body as a co-opted governor. More specifically, if you have community development skills, an interest in art or music and a knowledge of the local area we would like to meet you.

If you are interested please contact me Helen Fentimen Chair of Governors at office@priorweston.islington.sch.uk .

Helen Fentimen.
