I experiened noticeably lower water pressure in my shower this morning... (Thursday 13th Jan 2011).  I live on the ground floor of Basterfield House.

Has anyone else experienced the same?

I'd like to know if it's just a temporary issue (eg water leak in the system that Thames Water need to fix), or a structural issue (I know Thames Water have been lowering the pressure in the system in general), or indeed a local issue within the block.

Does anyone know if the cold water serving the bathrooms comes direct from the water mains, or whether it comes from a communal cold water tank at the top of the buildings?

Thanks!

Peter

My bathroom feed (SCH) comes from a tank at the top of Bayer, not from the mains.  The only mains water I have goes to the kitchen sink.
yes, we have had low pressure since yesterday morning- 2nd floor crescent house!
We had those problems in Bayer too.

Dan... thanks - I asked the Housing Dept to confirm whether the bathroom cold water is fed from the mains or from a communal water tank in the building, but they still havent responded to me.

Jade/Lucy - my water pressure seems to have improved, although not to its original pressure.  There was at least one leak in the local area (Cloth Fair, and I believe around Morelands) on Thursday which may have had an effect, although Thames Water did not think there should have been any impact on Golden Lane when I phoned them.  I have confirmed that my kitchen tap water pressure is fine, and Thames Water said that their responsibility ends there, and if the pressure is fine at the kitchen water tap then the mains pressure that they have responsibility for is ok.  Per above I'm still waiting for the City to confirm re: bathroom cold water being fed from a communal water tank in Basterfield House or not.

Thanks for following this through.  Ours has also improved today!
