Post lockdown
this morning we met with Councillor Sue Peason and others to chat about a community event in mid July to help everyone living on this estate to come together safely and have fun.
Ideas so far
* Picnics on Basterfield Lawn and around the pond and rose garden
* Live Music in the Rotunda or in Basterfield Lawn area
* games for children and their parents
* easy, fun exercise sessions for all ages on the podium
* Community Cafe
pre Covid there were various clubs and groups like knit and natter, book club , other groups may have arisen during the lock downs, there might be ideas for new groups such as board games
* stalls for groups to advertise themselves and recruit new members as well as remind old members
* Free Hugs. We have three volunteers, another three would allow a rota .fully vaccinated and happy to be hugged
* Ralph Perring Club. This is an original club now reduced in numbers with very elderly members. There is a suggestion to create a new section of younger people who would be able to re formalise the club, raise fund that would enable actives for themselves as well as the original club members
if you are interested in helping by suggesting activities , helping to make them happen, help with applying for funding, helping on the day please get in touch with me on here
