City of London traffic cops are planning an epic four-day charity challenge, raising money for good causes by paddling from Birmingham to London.
The aim is to have two sets of crews paddling two canoes along the 160-mile stretch of canals from the Midlands to the Regents Park Canal.
All money raised through sponsorship will go to support the work of the charities Help for Heroes and Child Victims of Crime.
The charity appeal is being organised by officers from the City’s Roads Policing Unit. The unit is keen to hear from City residents and businesses who would like to sponsor officers or may be able to help by supplying equipment such as tents, cooking utensils and food.
If you can provide assistance with the RPU fund-raising challenge, contact: Inspector Dave Aspinall on: 07736 084358 or PC Nick Ralph on: 07595 004859. You can also contact Barbican Police Office on 0207 601 2456.
