Join author Barbara Ellis for this interactive session which allows the audience to reflect on what they already know about The Americas and Africa before and after Columbus, as well as the events which took place from 1492 to 1838, when the enslaved Africans liberated themselves from slavery. Learn about the struggles of the enslaved peoples and how they emancipated themselves in 1838 and meet some of Africa's most known and

versatile heroes, 210 years after the ending of the slave trade.
