Every year there is one week dedicated to raising our awareness of what it means to have caring responsibilities and an effort to share the City support available.
Remembering a carer is not a "paid care worker". This is anyone, adult or child who looks after someone else, because of their illness, frailty, disability, mental health or substance misuse, whose time is not paid.
Do you know who, or where you can ask for help should you find yourself looking after some one?
City Carers Community, since 2020, is the only resident led carer support group, where we do just that, share our collective learnings. Each year we work with the City' paid service to create a joint timetable of carers week activities.
