Hello,

Does anyone know what the status of the plans for the leisure centre for which we were sent a consultation questionnaire a while back?

We hope it will remain as it is such an important part of the estate.

In fact we have been so inspired by the successful public space at the heart of Golden Lane that we have set our students a task this year to design a community sports hall in sites throughout London.

This is the link to the architecture studio theme:

- we look forward to inviting you to the summer show on Holloway Road where you can see the results of the student's work.

Yes, I have just checked with the new project manager for development of the Centre. The City have appointed architects to work up a design based on the public consultation. They are due to report in June. I will make sure that whatever happens next is reported on this site.
Unfortunate to know The City does not consider an open competition to harness the best ideas...
The architects are Cartwright Pickards who designed Murray Grove for Peabody. This has been well reviewed. See this.
I think they are very thoughtful on the issue of public housing. Have a look at their website.
Planning consultation closed this week.
