Happy International Women's Day 2017

What is the City of London Corporation doing to celebrate this?

Free Screening of Suffragettes at 17.15pm at Wood Street Police Station, followed by drinks at James Bar, HOWEVER its JUST for City of London Corporations employees on showing their ID Card....Nice of them to think about the residents...

There is a free Fighters Archive art exhibition celebrating black women fighters at the Guildhall Art Gallery, 7-19th March 2017.

City of London Corporation should encourage its primary school, Sir John Cass, to celebrate this important day, and the importance of women in society.

Maybe in future years GLERA would consider holding a lecture, or some type of community celebration maybe in conjunction with City University, who have researchers and experts in this field, perhaps sponsored by the City of London Corporation.

Politically the Labour Party has more women than any other political party.

They do have an annual residents celebration event at the Guildhall.

They do fund the Barbican Centre, open to both residents and non residents of the City, they do fund the Museum of London, open to residents and non residents of the City etc etc etc.

Plenty to complain about but it ain't all bad.

Might the fact that the Labour Party has more women members than any other party mean that that's the reason we'll (sadly) be getting another Tory government after the next election?

International Women Day IS to celebrate women, for what they are, for what they have achieved & show OUR appreciation to them.
City of London Corporation can do more.
Women ARE essential in creating a more cohesive society, & are valued in politics.
Without them you would not be born.
