ITEMS FOR SALE OR RECYCLE

235 discussions

A number of changes have been made to the forum to make it easier to navigate.

  • There is a new category called 'Estate Watch'.  This is for comments on management and maintenance of the estate.
  • 'Estate Announcements' is a listing of formal announcements by the City of London Corporation.
  • The recycling and the market place have been combined. This is for anyone on the estate to list items to buy, sell or recycle.  This is for the use of individuals, not for commercial organisations to advertise.

Hi

As the community seems to be growing nicely, is it possible to maybe offer a few services that could be used by everyone.  I see this as being (i) tangible goods and (ii) information/expertise.  For example:  I have a hoard of cassette tapes, LPs and 45s and CDs and I am sure there are a few other people in this situation.  In order to record everything to a CD or MP3 (or whatever one does these days) for example, one would need to buy a Record Player, etc and then know how to record efficiently.  A service could be an 'expert' who would be willing to give a talk on the options that are available to us; the purchase of a central recording system that everyone could then book and use (I'm willing to put in £10 if it helps to get the ball rolling) and use of a room that could be used for the purpose (Fred Perrin/Bar, etc.).  Of course, it will need someone interested in this type of project to co-ordinate it all - headache for some but a 'golden' opportunity for someone else. Is it a possibility?

Hi  A service I urgently need this week is someone who is good at Photoshopping and willing to edit Family Photographs.  They are digital colour photos and are either on a disc or memory stick.  I urgently need about half a dozen adjusted (eg improve colour/tone of overall picture - face too red for example, edit out a person, etc.)

If there is a real enthusiast out there, I have lots of other photos that I would dearly love some assistance with in sorting out and getting onto disc ready for printing out.  Does anyone have a Scanner for film Negatives that they wouldn't mind sharing?  This would be a good winter project so no rush for it.  Thanks in anticipation and look forward to hearing from you.

Patricia

Thanks for this suggestion.  I have set up a new category called 'Skills Exchange'. Please list the areas where you would like advice and hopefully, you will get a couple of offers of assistance.
