Thanks for the kind words about the video. I've been thinking about re-doing it recently, fixing the ranty bit at the end. :)

I obviously totally agree with Roland and the issue of signage. It always makes me laugh when I pass that 'Please be Considerate' sign at the corner of Fann St and Golden Lane. It's the most obtrusive, out-of-place and ill considered sign they could have found. It may be promoting consideration but it looks like the complete opposite.

Don't loose the ranty bit Michael, it's great. Super video.

There is still too much ugly ineffectual signage up on the estate - high time for a good tidy up.

Quite agree. How about doing a walkabout and listing whatever signs might be considered unecessary or shabby and bring it to the attention of the Residents Committee (of which I'm a member) to see what further action can be taken.

Watch this video, it is excellent. It would be good to add a bit on some of the oddities on this estate.
There is a whole new project to be done looking at typefaces in Smithfield Market and along Fleet Street. The Port of London Authority Building near to Fabric has a sign created entirely in blue mosaic for example.

I think it has got worse since you made your video as several signs have got new signs fixed on top of them. (I'm not sure how to rotate the picture).
