The One Love Party's priority issue is air pollution that it describes as a pandemic situation, quoting figures that 50,000 people die from it annually in the UK.[25][26] It campaigns for immediate emergency action to bring fossil fuel emissions to zero by the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and Royal Prerogative to force all power production, shipping, aviation and automobile companies to convert to only clean energy sources.[1]
The party subscribes to techno-progressive principles and advocates a world union underpinned by the unification of all international armed forces.[1][27] It believes in an accelerated program of space exploration, including the colonization of Mars and Venus and the mining of asteroids to mitigate economic scarcity.[28] It wishes to abolish personal income taxes while introducing a universal national wage for all citizens. The party aims to do so by applying robotic and AI technologies and further leveraging indirect means of taxation.[29] It proposes legalizing, licensing and taxing drugs such as cannabis in the hope to end the war on drugs and reduce violent crime.[30][31]
Interesting.
They want to eliminate pollution great, at least they want to unlike the Conservatives who want to pull out of EU treaties which compel all EU nations to reduce pollution.
Surely with the present types of fuels humanity will be creating far more pollution by its futile attempts to colonise Mars and Venus. Develop a carbon neutral fuel source for plant Earth first. Then to clean up the space debris pollution created by the nations that created it.
What is needed a large enough space ship to jettison all dictators, speculative profit making polluters into deep space with no return.
If they want to legalise drugs, for medicinal purposes that's fine, as long as the users then do not revert to the NHS, and Mental Health Trusts when things go wrong.
Like all parties some of their policies may seem diabolical, however over time policies become acceptable. Think of Victorian times, great changes happened in industrial relations and employment laws The Green Party idea of a four day week is appealing, with increasing mechanicalisation, artificial intelligence, robotisation inevitable, it will generate greater leisure times, resulting in more consumerism, employment in related leisure and service industries.
