The Leisure Centre is now closed.  Planning permission was granted just before Christmas for revised proposals for the Centre. They still need to be approved by the Secretary of State as Listed Buildings Consent is also required.

The main changes are:

• Windows to the gym - the area currently used for offices - will not be single sheets of glass but have a window design.
• The dance studio which was proposed to fill the gap at ground floor level between the sports hall and swimming pool is now to be moved to the basement level space.
• The photovoltaic panels which were to have been at an angle to the roof will now be level with the roof.

There is no news on when building works will start.
