It is extremely very rare for truly independent candidates to get elected to Parliament, some do, often in areas where the sitting MP has become too complacent, and ignores the views of their constituents that they are supposed to represent.

Imagine what Parliament would be like if the majority of MP's decide to claim that they were independents....just like the City of London Corporation.
