Save Bernard Morgan House

City of London

Since the passage of the health bill a lot has happened.
Private health companies have moved into community , hospital and primary care. Does it matter? Well public bodies like the NHS are subject to Freedom of information requests so that data can be shared and we can monitor performance. Virgin Care-Assura are not subject to FOIs.
The NHS if funded by taxation, that money flows into private companies who need to make a profit and many of these private companies do not pay tax here. So it does not seem a good deal for Engkish tax payers.
Liverpool is putting their GP services out to tender, the main private bidders are Serco and Virgin Care-Assura. They propose phasing out Practice Nurses.
I would hate the Neaman Practice to lose their nurses.

There are lots of groups working to save the health service. Just wondered whether people living here were aware of what's happening and would like to do something.

Hi Christine,

For what it's worth, I'm opposed to the NHS being carved up - though I'm rather biased by working for the NHS myself! So much NHS work has already been farmed out to companies, and I wonder how much of it could be reversed even if we managed to find a government wanting to make that happen. Sadly I don't think the true impact will be felt until it's too late.

I'll look out for those cards in the Estate Office.
