The newly opened Fish & Chip shop in Whitecross Street is great.

100% better than the truly dismal chippie on the same site previously - make that 200%.

Good value, too.

I was under the impression that this was actually another branch of Kennedy's. I may be wrong but it sounds like it's worth a try anyway :).

That's interesting Christine. I wouldn't have thought to go there for fish and chips, although the Tate's cream tea is usually pretty good :).

The old place was Turkish owned, the new owners are Greek, the food in Whitecross street tastes fresher than Goswell road despite having the same name over the door,  probably due to higher ammount  of customers, its a bit pricy but the portions are very generous and I don't like stingy portions. The manager told me they change the oil every day.

hope they keep up the standards which they haven't on Goswell road.

Its a vast improvement on the old place, where I would go once in a blue moon to remind myself why I didn't go more often, the food was was rank and the reason why foreigners laugh at fish and chips and think its disgusting, old grey greasy chips and fish that tasted like it had been frozen in the last ice age, despite that the old place was always jammed packed at lunch times, I always wondered why.

their website

unlike this place that has been  open for years and i had the misfortune to attempt to eat from once, they have recently moved from a score of zero to one, makes you wonder what they do to the food, lol
