Does anyone know why the trees between the end of Cuthbert Harrowing House and the Shakespeare Pub have red & white tape around them?

It's a little bit over the top isn't it. They have cordoned off a huge area. i could only see a few paving stones wonky. I guess if people weren't so busy tweeting, texting or taking selfies as they walked along they wouldn't trip over anything. But that's just my opinion
