Stefi, these pictures are great.  I knew there was a paddling pool before it became Hatfield House Lawn.  How I wish we could have it back, because having the lawn unfortunately has caused a lot of problems with non residents monopolising the area, and leaving their rubbish, cigarette butts behind.
Have you got access to any more pictures, as would love to see them.  Many thanks.

Wonderful pictures!  Lets bring back the paddling pool and then we can throw the annoying non residents in it hahaha!!!

It would very quickly fill up and overflow Steve!

No doubt drained as a Health and Safety measure to prevent small animals falling in and drowning.  Also did it leak into what are now the changing rooms of the Sports Club?

I wonder if this inspired the lake at the Barbican- as it is the same architects.

Many thanks for posting.

A Google image search for "Corbusier Unité pond" shows no ponds at all- but, in a circular argument, the 4th image is our own Great Arthur roof flag and leads to a homage to our home.

Thank you.  I will continue to look for the Unite pool.

However I now see that Arthur also has a pool with stepping stones.  Amazing.  I wonder how we can overcome the Health and Safety issues to get the roof re-opened?

..and I was thinking of proposing that that patch of land could be used for boules- or is that too Hipster?
