Attacking COL Barbican staff!
Interesting article on Barbican Talk from a recent feature in the ES. Seems that some Barbican residents have been attacking COL staff and they have been given "escape routes"!
Golden Lane is far too civilised for that I feel?

Hi Steve. Someone told me about this article. Sorry, but I had to almost laugh. No one obviously condones any attacks on any staff. But, as for Golden Lane Estate being 'too civilised', for that, I don't think so. Some years ago, a current resident estate officer had to 'leg it' down the back stairs of Great Arthur House, after really upsetting a then resident. What is vital here is that the COL staff are paid by the residents, to serve, and look after their interests, and maintain the estate, and not to 'dictate' to residents. After all, we live together on a housing estate, and not in a prison camp!

Shocking stuff Maria! Sort of behaviour that occurred where I used to live! Think you should write a book entitled "On Golden Lane" (no pun intended to On Golden Pond hahaha).
Might still have the ES issue with the article in it, will have a look.

Would like to read it Steve. Another resident told me about the article, and what really amazed us was the fact it got into the papers, considering how the COL hate anyone reading anything about them that does not put them in a 'perfect light'!
Believe me I could write a book about some of the things I have seen here over the years. It would make very interesting reading.

Not sure if I have the article, as I never actually read it in the ES, as I don`t get the paper every day?
