Save Bernard Morgan House

City of London

5 chairs and 4 wooden stools (including two red-topped ones with 3 legs) were taken Saturday early evening from outside on the landing at the top of SCH just before Ros and I were due to have supper with friends. The chairs were only unsupervised for about 10 min. One stool was thrown over the balcony, but there is no sign of the other items. The chairs were stacking metal-framed "spaghetti" chairs, with clear plastic stringed backs and seats. If you noticed anything that might be linked to the disappearance, please get in touch [07976 437982 or d.ish-horowicz@ucl.ac.uk]. We put posters up about the loss but the Estate Office took them down almost immediately on Monday.

I am so sorry to hear about this.  Its a sad time when residents cannot put out some chairs etc to enjoy eating outdoors.  I did see the notices, but why would the Estate Office take them down?  Obviously, its a theft, and if one stool was thrown over the balcony, that's vandalism, and the Estate Office should do all they can to assist you.  I do hope you find out what happened.  I am afraid I cannot help as live in Crescent House, but know how you feel as have had thefts from my area in the past.
