I was wondering if anyone on the estate would like to join an 'Events Group'?

The idea would be to hold meetings every 3 or 4 months to discuss ideas for events on Golden Lane.

The meeting would also support anyone who wanted to run an event on the estate. It would be really great if there were more social events on the estate such as market day, opening the Gt Arthur House roof garden or Christmas parties.

Both leaseholders and tenants are needed.

The group would be very informal and there would be no pressure to run events.

If you are interested, please email your details to goldenlaneevents@gmail.com.

Hello Lee.

I think that's a good idea.  I know you and Karen organised the last market day, which was a great success, and it would maybe be nice if we had more of them in the year, if residents want that.  I certainly like the idea of a Christmas party.  The last party we had was the Jubilee one, and that was very enjoyable.  I am very experienced in knowing how to cater for a good Christmas party, which I used to hold in my flat every year, some years ago.  Obviously, that was on a much smaller scale, but I do like good presentation of food.  Maybe, I could assist anyone if they wanted to organise something like this, if they wanted me to.
As for the  Great Arthur roof garden, I don't think there is one, as it seemed there was not enough interest to recreate it.  Personally, it is such a shame to waste a large space, as I believe there used to be a roof garden there some years ago.  I have created one on one end of Crescent House, which my neighbours like, and many use, including guest flat users.  I think its great that an empty space can be made into a 'garden' for people to enjoy.  However, it is entirely up to the residents of Great Arthur House if they want to create a garden there again.  I can only speak for where I live.
