Hello All

On reading the above newsletter, we all received yesterday, I have the following comments to make:

Firstly, regarding the new Housing & Planning Act, I would like to point out that the City say they are holding a meeting with the new Tenants' Forum to discuss any changes.  As a Committee member of GLERA, which represents ALL residents on the Estate, may I ask why no mention was made of holding any meeting with GLERA as well, especially considering we have been democratically elected by residents to represent them?  Surely, it would be only right, and fair, for the City to involve both parties?  And, certainly courteous.

I notice that under 'Hatfield Recycling and Fire Safety', we are told that overall the fire safety on the Estate was satisfactory.  Very reassuring!  We have been asked not to leave recycling under Hatfield House, but to instead place our recycling under Crescent House.  Well, considering this is exactly the same area, as its the point where Hatfield House, and Crescent join,  then one wonders why, if anyone leaves recycling under there it is considered fly tipping, on the one hand, but also 'safer' on the other hand?

Who actually compiles this newsletter?

Is GLERA actually doing anything of late?

Hi Nick.  As you know a form was sent round to every household by GLERA, asking residents what issues they wanted GLERA to prioritise.  The results were published, and now that the summer holtdays are over, these will be looked at.  Next Tuesday, is a GLERA Committee meeeting, which residents are invited to attend, so please come along, and add any concerns you may have.

Also, recently, when all tenants were sent a letter, signing them up to Experian, unless they opted out, it was GLERA who protested about this to Estate Management, and pointed out that the letter should have invited residents to join up, if they wished, and not in the way it was done.
