Kill the Bill Demo Sunday 13th March 12:00–15:00 and starts at Lincoln's Inn Fields

Join thousands for a massive demonstration to oppose the Tories' disastrous Housing and Planning Bill, and demand:

Secure Homes For All - Control Rents - Homes for People not Profit.

The demonstration starts at Lincoln's Inn Fields at midday, and will end in Parliament Square on Sunday 13th March

The Tories are pushing through legislation that rather than addressing or solving the housing crisis, will make it much worse.

The Housing Bill aims to destroy council housing and will hit everyone on an ordinary income - it will mean higher rents, less security, and less chance of a home you can afford.

The Bill condemns millions to a lifetime of insecure, expensive private renting. Everyone deserves a decent home: but landlords, developers and the rich will be the only ones to benefit from this bill. We must Kill the Bill!

Campaign supported by Defend Council Housing, Radical Housing Network, GMB Union, NUT London Teachers Housing Campaign, Bakers Union, Unite Housing Workers, London Gypsy Traveller Unit, National Bargee Travellers Association, Leeds Hands Off Our Homes, the Green Party, John McDonnell MP and many more.

LEASEHOLDERS need to be aware that this Bill and associated Welfare Bill will have an enormous potential impact on Golden Lane. Combined, the Bills will leave a funding gap of around 15% in the Housing Revenue Account by 2020 which calls into question how the 5 year maintenance programme will be funded (from leaseholder charges perhaps?). It will also mean all new tenancies on the Estate will be for 2 years only - hardly conducive to a stable community.

WELL DONE Lee, Karen & William for mobilising tenants on this issue - is Lee the first GLE resident to be quoted in a Parliamentary Debate?
