I’ve been a resident of Cullum Welch for many years now and I’ve noticed a big increase in unknown visitors on my floor and generally in the building this year. A lot of wheeled suitcases every few days, lots of late night / very early morning big groups coming in and out of the studio flats…

It bares all the hallmarks of short let Airbnb style renting, but am I right in thinking this is not allowed on the estate?

Has anyone else noticed this? I’m thinking of contacting the estate office if it continues.

Thanks.

  • I agree  it is not allowed.Do report it to Alison Panks

Thanks Christine, I will do.

Hi Christine, do you have a contact email for Alison Panks? Many thanks.

Alison.panks@cityoflondon.gov.uk

I emailed Alison Panks on Monday 12th August but unfortunately no reply. Is she still with CoL or is there someone else I could speak to?

Hi Tom - I think I spot a typo - allison.panks@cityoflondon.gov.uk

Thank the folk who have bought council stock and raking in thousands per month, and quite literally don’t care who they let their property out to!! They don’t abide by the tenancy agreements, and the leaseholders don’t implement them. Good luck with reporting to Alison Panks, she’ll only refer you back to the leaseholder.

As the City of London have made the rules about Airbnb lets, and prohibit it then it is up to them to contact the leaseholder, as they have their details.  It is not your responsibility at all.
