Got a letter today to say there will be no electricity all day tomorrow in crescent house but rather than get it this morning or in the afternoon it gets posted through my letterbox this evening so all of the food that I had already and bought today will be ruined, great organisation again.

Hi Lee.  I telephoned the Estate Office to make this very point, and I was told the Electricity Board advises that food in freezers will remain safe for up to 24 hours, so long as the door is not opened.  I don't know how true this is, but you would have thought that the letter could at least have given some advice on this.
