Hello all. I was very upset today to discover that my mini greenhouse, in the allotment, had been vandalised. All the contents had been tipped out, including the shelving, and I found the casing a few feet away. Also, a pot of mine had been smashed. I realise that last week we had very heavy winds here, and I know my chairs took a tumble then, but this happened only yesterday. My partner was with me when we discovered it, and he fully agrees that it was done deliberately, by the way the contents were strewn.
I am concerned that the allotment is not secure enough, concerning the key, and I would hope that we can maybe think of a better system as I would not want that to happen to anyone else. Its very sad that some individuals get pleasure out of doing something like this.

I would be very grateful if a member of the gardening committee could contact me, to discuss this, and come up with some ideas for better security. Many thanks.

I'm pretty sure it was the wind. I was in the allotment this afternoon and have tidied up your things and put them back in the greenhouse. The broken pot is still there though as I wasn't sure if you wanted to keep it.
Just to say that the Baggers next social is on Sunday 9 November, late morning/early afternoon, when we will be planting out some daffodil bulbs, so do come along and raise any concerns you may have then.
Bev, if you saw what I found that day you would see that it definately was not the wind. I saw what the wind had done to my chairs, but the greenhouse remained okay. I walk past there every day with Lulu, so was shocked last Saturday to see that my mini greenhouse had been lifted up, all the contents thrown out, and it left on its side by the wall, with only the casing left. There had been no wind at all at that time! The cover was still zipped up, so if any wind had blown it over the contents would have still remained inside. It was obvious that someone had lifted it up, and dropped all the contents out, including the shelving, before discarding it.
Thank you for clearing it up. That is much appreciated. I showed both my Mum, and John what had happened, and they both completely agreed with me that it had been a deliberate act of vandalism. That is why I am upset.
