London Wall have just invoiced me for a car parking space with an increase of 35%.

Does anyone know what charges are elsewhere?  What increases have come in this year?

Has there been any justification published anywhere?

"The resident parking rate went up in price from the 1 July this year and you should have been advised of this when taking out a season ticket. I can only apologise if that did not happen.

The new rate from 1 July is £250 per quarter. We do however now offer an additional rate of £800 for the year. If you would like to take up the annual rate please let me know and I will arrange for you to be re-invoiced. Please note that the down side of the annual rate is that we do not make refunds for early termination like we do with the quarterly rate."

Lucky to have a car?

Over the years within the City, the pavements have expanded in width, roads have narrowed, cycle lanes have increased, and city residents continue to suffer without essential parking space on residential roads close to their homes.

Fann Street is a typical example, there is ample space for both residents vehicles, the pavement does not need to be as wide as present.

I would like to see more resident parking spaces, electric charging points on all estates, and roads that have a high density of residents. Other London boroughs provide on-street parking for their residents, some charge a fee, the City needs to re-examine its parking policies for its residents.

Good thinking.
