Is anyone else fed up with those kids that run around our estate? I am all for kids playing outside but these kids are a menace. They are always down by the bins smashing things up and throwing the rubbish around. They were there this afternoon and have left a trail of destruction behind.

It is not just what they are doing but also the noise. Any sound from the bin area and car park is amplified up to us that live above and it is very annoying.

I have also seen these kids climbing the scaffold before the wooden fence went up, throwing pieces of wood and other items into the round vents that come up from the car park and more recently, repeatedly throwing a bike over the wall down onto the walkway by the bins that leads to the leisure centre. If it had hit someone on the head walking through it would have caused serious damage.

Their parents should know what they are up to and do something about it.

Perhaps the Estates Office needs to put up some signs, such as, "WARNING YOU ARE ON CAMERA" or "PLEASE REFRAIN FROM PLAYING IN THIS AREA" this may help to stop them in the future.

I am sure that they are just bored over the summer holidays, I can truly say that I have never experienced any unsavoury behaviour from any children on Golden Lane.

They "may" be children from other nearby housing, Fortune Street.

We need to do our best to create activities that they could engage in during holidays. Perhaps the Estates Office could publicise all activities that the City is arranging for children during holidays? and more funding needs to be allocated by the City for these activities, including free use of the leisure centre. Publish a thrice yearly leaflet detailing all of the free activities, places of interest, museums, libraries, walks, concerts, etc.. that they may wish to attend locally, engage with them and they will feel valued and certainly will take advantage of the free offers.

We have a world class concert venue on our door step, the City has sufficient funds to allow all of our youth within the square mile a free pass to the cinema, concerts etc., perhaps they may wish to provide a Photo Identity Card, allowing free admission as long as an adult is in attendance.

Do we have any youth as a Youth Representative on the Golden Lane Residents Association? Perhaps at least one seat should be reserved for a Youth Representative.

Let the youth enjoy their youth, lets not be too harsh, but where there may be wrong, lets ensure that we tell them in a friendly positive way. We all wish  the youth well, and would want hem to enjoy their life to the fullest, with the benefits of living in an amazing City. They are our collective future.

Hi.

I am a Committee member on the Golden Lane Residents' Association, and, no, we do not have a specific seat for a Youth Rep.  We don't have any seats for any particular group on the Estate, as we represent every one.  When the new Committee was appointed a form was sent to every resident, asking them what issues they wanted the Committee to prioritise.  As far as I know there were no requests for any members to represent any particular group, but anyone is welcome to come to our Committee meetings and make suggestions.
