Just noticed the new mail delivery system from the estate office on Friday, mail now being wedged into the intercom system on the street open to the public, call me old fashioned but I prefer my private confidential letters to be delivered the conventional way THROUGH MY LETTER  BOX.

See the photo attached.

Mr. Murphy one of the recipients of this new service said he was saddened and disappointed in this new  service, but in no way surprised.

I spotted a few flaws with this straight away, Confidentiality, Privacy, Security, Theft, Burglaries, Respect , infirm and immobile unable to check for their mail, etc. Maybe next the estate office will be flinging the mail straight out the estate office window, or perhaps take it onto the roof of GAH and toss it into the ether.

Good grief!  I think I'll add this to my email to Laurence Jones.

I would like to assure residents that these letters were not sent from the Estate Office.

Having view the photos it is also clear that the way in which these letters were addressed are not in keeping with the format used by the Estate Management Team.

Letters issued by the Estate Management Team are delivered to individual letter boxes and are not left at the doorway or  attached to doors.

Thank you to Laurence Jones for the posting above.

It is very reassuring to learn that the envelopes were not left by Estate Office staff. Although people seem to have jumped to incorrect conclusions I am curious to know who was responsible for what we see in the photograph. Although it is not possible to be absolutely certain from the photo, both envelopes look as though they were hand delivered, ie no stamp or franking is visible. I doubt a postman would have done this, so if we eliminate that possibility, who would be writing at the same time to two residents of Crescent House, including to 'the resident' since a date last August rather than a specific person and arranging for hand-delivery in this rather sloppy manner. These do look like "official" letters of some sort.

Mr. Murphy says his letter was from EDF, he was so concerned he rang EDF, they told him and were adamant that no employee would leave mail in this fashion as all employees are made aware from day one that company policy regarding private and confidential mail delivery should only be at the address through a letter box, otherwise the company would be wide open to be sued. They told him the letter after an attempted failed delivery was handed in at the estate office for them to deliver.
