Am afraid this is a rather serious issue, regarding Hatfield House lawn.  Yesterday, I found a large hole on the lawn where the foundations hat rotted away.  There were a further two places where it was noticeable that the foundations were also unstable.  I reported it immediately to the Estate Office.  As a resident overlooking the lawn, and someone who likes to use it, as it is meant for residents' use only, I have repeatedly reported to the Estate office that over time this area has been misused by many members of the public, who use it as a 'park' during their lunch hours.  This has resulted in any residents being unable to use a lawn they pay for during certain hours.  With the increase of new businesses opening up around us has only worsened to the wear and tear caused by these people, who also leave a lot of litter, not only in the bins, which is extra work for Estate porters to deal with, but also on the lawn itself, and that includes loads of cigarette butts.

At an earlier Residents' Open Meeting this year, we were told that steps would be taken by the Estate Office management to tackle this problem.  However, this did not happen, and when I raised it fairly recently my concerns were 'dismissed', even though I am a member of the GLERA Committee.  Now we are in a situation where this poor lawn has completely being ruined, despite many attempts to protect it.  So, am afraid, the situation is not funny.  In fact the matter of many parts of the Estate being run down is not funny either.  We, as residents, deserve better than this.
