Barbican and Golden Lane Neighbourhood Forum - drop in at Community Centre

June 8, 2023 from 5pm to 6:30pm
The Barbican and Golden Lane community has applied to become a designated neighbourhood forum so that it can prepare a neighbourhood plan and participate in local planning matters on a statutory basis. Under the government’s Localism legislation, communities can draw up their own plans that become part of the statutory framework for land use. This will be the City of London’s first neighbourhood forum and neighbourhood plan. The application is supported by local residents, councillors, businesses and community groups such as GLERA and the BA. I agree. Also, we all received a letter today telling us the estate office will be closed on Monday 12 Sept. due to staff leave and 'training'. This is not the first time we have had this type of letter. The issue is us residents pay for a service from the estate office in our service charges, so there is no reason it should be closed, especially as there is an Estate Service Supervisor whose name I do not know on site. We also have a Resident Estate Officer, whose name we do know,  the post of Estate Manager having gone. We need an update on what exactly these roles are, and an explanation as to what exactly 'training' means.  Is it managerial training or training of estate porters?
